Happy Sunday!
Wishing everyone a very happy Easter Sunday!
After having one of the most volatile weeks in market history, this past week was a bit of a snooze fest in comparison. This wasn’t a huge surprise considering hitting annual range and breaking up nearly 700 points from those recent lows. We also had a bit of a slower week in terms of US catalysts and mostly global events in both Canada and Europe. BOC left rates unchanged this past week, creating a bit of a slow market environment.
So, what can we expect heading into this week as we are approaching the end of April? Another week of sideways action until one end breaks (4800 or 5800) or does that volatility pick up again? We’ve got Canadian elections coming up next week, with early voting already started. This can make things a little fun, especially with all the recent headlines on tariffs. Let’s review.
